Joseph L. Hanson

Tybee Island- Mr. Joseph L. Hanson, 72, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Memorial University Medical Center.

The Dubuque, Iowa native was a graduate of the University of Louisville and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for many years as a Certified Public Accountant in Louisville before retiring to Tybee Island in 1996. Joe was a communicant of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joann Herb Hanson; three children, Lori Bell, Scott Hanson, Kitty Lackey; brother, Jack Hanson; two sisters, Eleanor Pfieffer, Mary Jo Townsend and sixteen grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Remembrances may be made to St. Michael's Catholic School, 714 Lovell Ave., Tybee Island, GA 31328.
